Welding Equipment : Articles

The transmission uses gears, which are a form of wheel and axle with specially shaped teeth on the outside of the wheels. Some common examples of simple machines are the shovel (a form of lever), the pulley at the top of a flagpole, the steering wheel of an automobile (a form of wheel and axle), and the wheelchair ramp (a form of inclined plane). Some types of saws utilize a blade that is coupled directly to the motor, which cuts down on weight and cost but typically reduces the amount of torque generated. This is generally used to cut openings in existing walls.

Cold-pressure welding is accomplished by the application of high pressure at room temperature; forge welding (forging) is done by means of hammering, with the addition of heat.

Welding Equipment info: Horsepower ratings on compressors pertain to the electric motor or gasoline engine that powers the pump unit. The tools for lock picking are usually different for each type of lock and can sometimes be improvised from common items, such as hair pins or safety pins. An airplane engine uses the combustion, or rapid burning, of airplane fuel to power the engine that turns the propeller. See also Welding Rods, and pages related to Welding Equipment.
